Thursday Network, the young professionals auxiliary group for the Greater Washington Urban League, is hosting the 2019 Inspiring the Future Through STEAM: Design Challenge and Exhibition Fair to show students how they can change their world by incorporating science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics with the support of a mentor!
During this year's event, students will work in collaborative groups to select a problem in their community that they would like to solve.
They will:
- create a proposal and presentation that shows the problem they want to solve and how elements of STEAM can create a solution.
- work with a STEAM mentor who will help them incorporate elements of STEAM in their proposal.
- participate in an exhibition fair and learn about STEAM careers from young professionals from the area.
*Breakfast, snacks, and lunch will be provided for all participants!
