Mission
Trisha's mission is to for your child to engage, express themselves, and be empowered, through personalized and evidence-based speech therapy sessions. She is dedicated to helping children of all ages improve their communication skills by creating a supportive environment where they can confidently express themselves in whatever manner works best for them. By fostering meaningful connections and promoting self-empowerment, Trisha aims to make a positive impact on every child she meets.
Approach
Children learn best through meaningful and fun interactions. Whether we are working on first words, answering questions, learning concepts, improving speech sounds, or building speech fluency strategies, sessions are centered around engaging books and playful activities.
Shared reading supports language growth in powerful ways. Books help children build vocabulary, understand sentence structure, develop comprehension skills, and strengthen attention and listening. Reading together also encourages conversation, imagination, and early literacy skills that support long-term academic success.
Play brings these skills to life. Trisha uses a thoughtfully selected arsenal of toys, games, and play-based activities that are adapted across a wide range of speech and language goals. Play skills are essential at every age, and the benefits of playing games are endless — turn-taking, problem solving, compromise, flexible thinking, and learning how to handle winning and losing are naturally incorporated into therapy regardless of the specific targets.
Trisha’s clients have fun while they learn — and they always want to come back for more.
What families are saying.....
"Mrs. Hillman was a great pleasure to work with my son for his speech therapy sessions. She was very kind, knowledgeable and helped him tremendously. She provided him encouraging tips that he continues to use which has improved his confidence. We highly recommend Mrs. Hillman's services. "
"Our experience has been so wonderful and my son really enjoys seeing Miss Trisha! "
"Trisha Hillman is a gifted speech language pathologist. She has worked with my twin boys since they were 2 years old. They were not talking at all and had difficulty understanding basic commands. Three years later, my boys are now 5 years old. They are both talking in full sentences, following directions, and enjoy when "Ms. Trisha" comes to "play" with them. She brings exciting games/toys to each session that keeps their attention. I enjoy hearing my boys' laughter from another room in my house when Trisha works with them. I am amazed by the progress they have made, and I'm so grateful for Trisha's expertise and genuine care that she continues to provide for my boys. Thank you, Trisha, for being amazing! "
"We were first introduced to Trisha through early intervention when our daughter Ava qualified for speech services at 18 months. We could not have gotten luckier with a speech teacher. Trisha was fun, engaging, flexible, and offered great advice for my husband and I to make sure what was being learned in the sessions was translated during the week. All of her suggestions and guidance made such a huge difference for Ava. By the time Ava had been seeing Trisha for about a year she had improved so much going from 0 words to 4-5 word sentences and effectively communicating daily with peers and adults. Both my daughter and I were so grateful for Trisha and any parent/child would be fortunate to use Trisha for speech!
