Students in K-8 will receive an iPad to use throughout the school year. Students/Parents are responsible for their device. Students bring their iPad to and from school on a daily basis. iPads need to be fully charged daily. Please make sure to read the iPad Handbook for more details. Students in K-2nd grade have access to their iPad during school only, and do not take the iPad home. 3rd-8th graders take their iPad home daily.
All apps needed will be added to the iPad by the school. Students will not have access to downloading apps from the App Store.
At the beginning of the school year, parents receive a letter containing detailed information. This letter also contains your child's specific iPad model and credentials along with the iPad forms to fill out electronically. A sample of this letter can be reviewed here.
Per policies, any damages the iPad incurs will be the responsibility of the parent/student to repair. You will be responsible for purchasing a protective case. Please note, the case belongs to you, and it will be returned to you at the end of the school year.
In the event of damage to the iPad, the iPad must be returned to school and the amount due will be billed (this will appear in your Alma account, where you can provide a payment method). Depending on the damage, the iPad will be repaired or replaced. See price list below. No third party repairs are allowed. If a third party is used to repair a device and the repair is not successful, the fee to replace the iPad will be assessed.
Chargers are available upon request for 3rd-8th graders. Kindergarten thru 2nd grade students leave their iPads at school so do not need to request a charger. For those in 3rd-8th who do not want to receive a charger from the school, please fill out the form with the opt-out option selected (this way you will not be responsible for returning a charger at the end of the school year). The iPad and charger will be collected at the end of each school year. The replacecement fee for non-Apple items or lost chargers is $40.
When purchasing your new case, please take the following guidelines into consideration:
The iPad screen will need to be protected. Install a clear glass protector or choose a case that already comes with a screen protector. Repairing a screen costs $250.
The entire body of the iPad needs to be protected by a case. The type of case that only protects the screen will not work. If the frame of the iPad is damaged (i.e bent), this cannot be repaired and the iPad will need to be replaced for a fee of $430.
No stickers, engraving, or any modifications to the iPad will be allowed. The case can be decorated as the student desires, but the iPad must be kept intact.
