One of the most well known introduced species into Australia is the European rabbit. European rabbits were introduced to Australia in the 1880s. Due to their fast reproduction rate, the population of rabbits quickly became uncontrollable and as a result they have caused significant environmental damage to native habitats, species, and crops.
