Welcome to Au Pets, my name is Katie, and Au Pets has been my little bundle of joy, poop and weather since 2015.

Started in Andersonville, Chicago, Au Pets followed me to New Orleans and now Milwaukee, where for the past three years it’s been my pleasure to provide Bay View with the most personalized care for your creature's comfort. I pledge to provide the loving attention your animals deserve and the quality assistance you need as their busy pet parent.

Kitty Visits

Kitty visits include fresh water and food, litter box cleanup, and cuddles. Please let us know of any specific toys we can play with to energize and engage your frisky feline in your absence! Medication may also be administered.

Dog Visits

Dog visits include properly dressing your pooch for the elements, walking and waste cleanup, fresh water, a treat, and cuddles. If your pup isn’t much of a walker and would prefer some time in the yard and a game of fetch, that’s fine too! Food and medication may also be administered.

Au Pets takes the safety of your pup(s) seriously. Your dog visit will never be combined with that of another dog client, and no more than two dogs per household will be walked at a time. We like to keep our dog walks simple; quality over quantity.

Nature Hikes

If your pup would benefit from a longer visit and more stimulation than strolling through your neighborhood, we offer 60- and 90-minute visits (including transportation) to one of Milwaukee’s many parks or lakeside trails, where your pup is sure to get all of the smells and steps and sensory stimulation they can handle! Please note that out of an abundance of caution, dogs are never taken to dog parks or walked off leash.

Dog Chauffeur

It’s hard to squeeze in grooming appointments during the work week, but we can help! You may book transportation to/from/both a grooming appointment and rest assured that your pup will arrive on time for their beauty treatment. We ask that your pup wear a harness during car rides with Au Pets, as they will be hooked onto a safety belt in the backseat.

Critter Visits

Chinchillas and parakeets and velociraptors, oh my! Critter visits are tailored to your critter’s specific needs. We can lay down fresh hay for your bunny and make them a vegetarian buffet or replenish the cucumber and crickets for your bearded dragon, just ask!

House Sitting

House sitting includes indoor and outdoor plant watering, turning on and off lights in the am & pm, bringing in mail and packages, light snow removal, running the taps in winter, etc. Whatever is needed for the safety of your home and peace of mind while you are traveling, just ask!

Rates

Please note that exclusive of nature hikes, Au Pets does not upcharge for extra animals per household. Rather, please make your selection based on a realistic estimate of how much time you imagine a visit taking from the time I enter and exit your home, considering factors such as meal preparation, meds and cleanup, number of litter boxes, and the energy level and sociability of your animal(s). You are paying for the length of service provided, not which type of service, type of pet(s) you own, or how many.

$23/20 minutes or less than visit

$28/30 minute visit

$35/45 minute visit

$45/60 minute visit

$60/90 minute visit

For an additional $20, a second pup from the same household may go on a nature hike.

After-hours & holidays

After-hours are considered prior to 8 am, and after 7 pm.

$5 added to all after-hours visits.

$10 added to all holiday visits.

Payments

Regularly scheduled M-F dog walks will be billed weekly; all other visits will be billed upon completion of the service. However, if you are traveling for an extended period of time, say more than two weeks, you may receive an invoice at both the midpoint and end of service.

When creating your pet profile in Time To Pet, you will have the option of choosing your payment method, and may select either standard debit/credit card, or ACH/e-check. Failure to remit payment in a timely manner will result in the termination of services and legal action.

Cancellations

We understand that plans can change and sometimes you may need to cancel your service, and that’s ok! However, should cancellations become recurrent, same-day cancellations will be charged in full, and cancellations for extended Kitty or Critter visits made five or less days prior to service will be charged 25% of the price of service.

Here’s how to get started with Au Pets...

Email me (Katie) at aupetsmke@gmail.com to discuss the needs of your pets, along with your availability to schedule a complimentary meet’n greet, and receive your invitation to create your pet profile through Time To Pet.
At the meet’n greet we will go over your pet’s routine and all particulars to ensure a great experience from start to finish. This will allow your pet(s) to get familiarized with me prior to our first visit, and discuss any questions regarding scheduling, updates, and payments. Keys will be collected at this time.
KEYS: Au Pets requires two sets of keys to be provided prior to starting service. If you have a keyless entry system, one key must be provided, or a key must be hidden for easy access. Keypads malfunction, and keys can snap during bitter temperatures. For the uninterrupted safety and care of your pets, two methods of entry must be provided prior to beginning service. If a second trip to pick up a key is required after the complementary meet’n greet, a $10 service fee will be added to your first invoice.
