ABOUT ME
If you don't reside in Wisconsin but would still like to work with me, please check the PSYPACT map. I am authorized to practice Interjurisdictional Telepsychology (APIT) by The PSYPACT Commission which allows me to practice telepsychology across state lines provided that you reside in a state where this has been approved. Please note that if you are outside of Wisconsin you MAY need to use Out of Network (OON) benefits if you have insurance and wish to get reimbursed for your care. I am in network with some out of state insurance plans so we will need to check on this together.

I have specialized training in conducting decision making capacity assessments for clients with cognitive concerns. I can complete evaluations for healthcare decision making or financial decision making.
I tend to adopt an Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) approach to treatment in many cases with influences from traditional Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) informed skills. Mindfulness is a component of several types of therapy including ACT and DBT and it tends to be a skill I incorporate into my work with patients. Biofeedback may also be part of our work together, particularly if you are dealing with chronic pain.
Some clients come to treatment seeking short-term therapy for a specific problem and others come to treatment for long-term self-discovery and support. While I can (and do) provide both types of treatment, insurance companies tend to favor short-term, problem-focused treatment and if you are reliant on insurance to cover treatment, we may have to take this into account when discussing our treatment plan.
Ultimately, it is my goal that you are comfortable and confident in my abilities as a provider to help you achieve your goals. I value honesty, compassion, empathy, and empowerment in therapy. I also value demystifying the practice of diagnosis and therapy and very much welcome questions about treatment.
