Michael Berendt has the privilege of serving as this year’s Secretary General of the Qatar Leadership Conference. Born and raised a proud South African, he ventured to Doha, Qatar later in his life where he currently studies as a Year 13 student at Park House English School. Michael is a passionate, well-determined individual who has a very fond love of sports and the dramatic arts. His motto in life is that “an open heart is an open mind” and takes pride in striving to achieve a world whereby one can live in unison with their fellow brothers and sisters in a kind, respectful and uplifting environment. Throughout his years, Michael’s undertaken ample leadership roles as a means of giving back to the communities from which he was well brought up. This time around, with the guidance of THIMUN Qatar, Michael aims to provide an accessible platform on which one can create and celebrate the youth leaders of today and tomorrow. He hopes that QLC 2020 will be a one-of-a-kind opportunity for students and adults to collaborate and shed light on matters that they deem worth talking about as a stepping-stone to ultimately change the world for the better.
