March is National Disability Awareness Month, but these books are available all year long, with new ones being published all the time. Here are a selection of books that are written by and/or explore the lives of people who are disabled, neurodivergent or chronically ill. Given the personal and private medical information needed to confirm most disabilities, this section will have fewer #OwnVoices resources as most other lists, though all books are highly recommended, awarded, or otherwise accolated. This is to protect the privacy of authors. This page will be updated periodically, but please contact the youth services department (youthserv@thetroylibrary.org) if you'd like additional titles.
