My Passion

Hunting is about more than killing, it's about being in nature. Growing up I have always been around hunting, specifically for White Tailed deer and Turkey. In every door I open in my house there's camo or some piece of hunting gear, reminding me about my family's passion for hunting. I've been going in the woods since before I can remember and I got my hunting license when I was only 10 years old. Hunting has taught me so much about the woods, and when I’m in the woods, I feel happy and free. Almost like there's no rules. Hunting isn’t only about killing the animal you're going after or shooting the biggest animal, it’s about getting away and enjoying nature. I've noticed the patterns of nature such as, what time the deer come out in certain spots and what it means when the birds stop chirping. My favorite part about hunting is difficult to explain. It's moments when there’s a slight breeze on a cool fall day, while you're sitting 20 feet up in a tree and you smell the distinct aroma of the leaves that have recently fallen. Walking back to the truck in the dark is an amazing feeling, even if I didn't get a deer or Turkey or whatever I'm hunting. Just being in a tree stand or sitting on the ground makes me feel blessed and walking back makes me feel better, because I got to get away from everything and appreciate nature a lot more. Every time I go out I feel like I either learn something new about nature or I learn to appreciate something new. Hunting is one of my biggest passions not because I want to shoot the biggest deer or get the best shot. It's my biggest passion because I get to go out in nature, enjoy life and watch all the animals live their ethereal lives. Hunting is my passion.
