How will the teaching be adapted for my child with learning needs?
At The Streetly Academy ‘Every teacher is a teacher of SEND’ and ‘Every leader is a leader of SEND’.
Our first point of emphasis is always on ‘Quality First Teaching’ (QFT) providing high quality and scaffolded delivery before ‘additional to, or different from’ evidence based intervention. We adapt our first response procedures and make reasonable adjustments to ensure high quality and inclusive provision for all students before moving on to the graduated response of assess, plan, do and review.
Where teachers identify the need for ‘additional to or different from’ support, we have an internal learning concerns referral system directly to the SENDCo for investigation and action.
