The Certificate in Living Theology is a one-year course of study inviting learners into practices of deep listening: to sacred text, to self, and to others in their everyday lives. This course of study provides learners with an introduction to historical and contemporary theologies with specific attention to the context and communities in which theological imaginations take shape. Learners will be introduced to interpretive tools enabling them to listen attentively with curiosity and humility, for the sake of personal and collective faithful presence, and in service of God as neighbor.
Upon completion of this certificate, students will be able to …
Analyze key doctrinal developments in Christology and critically examine the related critiques of how the church has constructed and lived this theology in the world throughout Christian history. (TCE 537)
