Hi! My name is Kaya Pecou and I am so excited for the upcoming school year, and to be teaching your child. This is my first year teaching at St. Ann’s and I’m blessed to be a part of this school community! I’m currently in college working towards getting my degree in Elementary Education. I had the privilege of teaching Kindergarten at Aquinas Academy for two years, while also teaching music classes to the high school students. I then taught 3 year olds at a daycare for a year. Being able to teach has been one of the greatest joys in my life and I can’t wait to see where this journey takes me and my students.
During my free time I love to read, go for walks, play piano, and spend time with friends and family. I live in a big household with my brother, parents, grandparents, and great grandmother. I love every second of getting to spend quality time with them. One of my favorite hobbies is music. Music has always been a big part of my life. For the past three years, some friends and myself have started a ministry praise and worship team. I’ve also had the joy of being in school plays during my time in high school then going on to help with musicals for students going forward. I hope to continue this ministry and share my love for music with my students. I’m very creative and love to incorporate that into my teaching with crafts and projects. My goal is to share faith and creativity with students and provide them a safe space in the classroom. Our goal as teachers is to set your children up for success in their future, and I can’t wait to work with them!
