NEW! Zoom Boom Band

27th - 31st July 2020 - Free of charge!

A new creative music project due to take place in the last week of July. The band will be looking at composition techniques, developing musical ideas, ensemble techniques, recording and editing techniques.

The band is aimed at students taking (or about to take) GCSE Music or BTEC /A level Music or Music Technology, age 14 years upwards.

At the end of the week, the band will have a new piece(s) recorded (audio only). Students who sign up will need to attend on all five days. The cost is fully subsidised by Cornwall Music Education Hub – i.e. there is no cost to students.

Experienced music leaders Matt Harrison and Patrick Bailey will be running this online course. Band members will need an instrument to play on and two devices to use in recording – one to play a backing track and one to record.

For 14 years plus (Year 9 upwards)

All instruments welcome – rock/pop enthusiasts to classical-lovers.

Songwriting Workshops

Cornwall Music Education Hub are supporting young songwriters to develop their creative talents. Following the launch of their new record label, Kevrenna Records, they will be helping songwriters and musicians to reach a wider audience.

ONLINE MUSIC SESSIONS FOR YOUNG MUSICIANS 11 - 18 YRS IN CORNWALL

· Learn high-energy funky-folk/gypsy music in a 45-minute Zoom music session!

· Play along your newly-learnt tune along with an online band!

Sessions will be privately led on Zoom

Suitable for any instrument: brass, woodwind, strings, percussion - orchestral/rock/folk.

Session will be playing instrumental music by ear, with easier and more challenging parts.

Sessions will be very musical - relaxed, fun and pressure-free.

Participants don't have to turn on video/microphone unless they want to.
