Two days of online interactive workshops, concerts and masterclasses, with special guests Dame Evelyn Glennie and Sidiki Dembele. All events are free and details of how to log on will be supplied once you have registered, click the link below.

The events are aimed at young percussionists and drummers from age 8 - pre conservatoire/ university . No prior experience is needed, just a love or an interest in percussion and drumming. Events are for grades 0-8+, with something suitable for everyone. Hosted by Patrick King and Owen Gunnell this is a wonderful opportunity to stay inspired during lockdown!

Music Theory online workshops starting 12th February!

* Two levels available (Grade 2/3 or Grade 4/5)

* 4 sessions on 12th, 26th February, 5th & 12th March

* 3pm (Grade 2/3) or 4pm (Grade 4/5), for a 45 minute session


Aural Skills online workshop starting 10th February!

* For Years 9, 10 & 11

* 4 sessions on 10th, 24th February, 3rd & 10th March

MOMOCURI

Musical Video Game Course

February half-term

For Students aged 8-12 years


Based on a spooky tale from Ancient Japan - showing how storytelling, music, and coding come together to create a fantastic RPG. By the end of the workshop, you will have created your own game, story and sountrack! Take away all the skills and (free) software you need to make more!


Who is it for? Students aged 8-12 , NO PRIOR KNOWLEDGE NECESSARY!!!!


Where? MOMOCURI will be hosted on Zoom.


Is it safe? Cameras and mics will be off, but you'll be able to ask as many questions as you like, via chat, to our fabulous teachers.


When? February 15th to 19th, 9am OR 1.30pm for 90' per day


How much? £5 for the whole week, each lesson will cost you £1

NEW! Zoom Boom Band 2021

Join Cornwall’s Zoom Boom Band!

Age 14 - 18 years, any instrument

4th, 11th, 25th February & 4th, 11th and 18th March

4pm – 5pm - Free of charge!

Come and join Cornwall’s online supergroup. For any musician (aged 14-18) on any instrument. All levels of experience welcome. Work with music leaders, Patrick Bailey and Matt Harrison, to create music as a group. Learn more about ensemble performance and composing. Each session will take place online and members will get recording tasks to undertake immediately after the session. This project is fully funded by the Cornwall Music Education Hub and Cornwall Music Service Trust and is free of charge to take part.

Songwriting Course

Cornwall Music Education Hub are offering a new Introduction to Songwriting online course for young people aged 11-19. The course will start on 27th January and will run for 6 weeks. It is fully funded by the Cornwall Music Education Hub so there is no charge to participants.

BYMT Musician Auditions 2021


Join the BYMT Musician Pool! (Grade 7 and above)

Online auditions available now - applications welcome all year round!

BYMT are offering opportunities to talented young musicians (aged 11-21), who play ANY instrument to grade 7 standard or above, to play in a pit-band, on-stage band or as an actor-musician! You'll work with a team of industry professionals to create a brand new show at one of their summer residential productions. BYMT is endorsed by Arts Council England.

Note: If you are successful, course fees apply for the summer residentials - starting from £500 (includes full-board accommodation) but some bursaries are available for those on low incomes.

Cornwall Music Education Hub is once again offering some fantastic online music activities this term and your child is invited to sign up now! All activities are timed to take place as 'after school clubs' somewhere between 3pm and 5pm and activities include a six week music production course (audio recording and editing) which is available at beginner or intermediate level; a weekly songwriting club; music theory classes (different grades available); and support sessions for GCSE Music students involving aural skills.
