Land Acknowledgement

The Project School acknowledges that Bloomington, Indiana sits on the ancestral homelands of Indigenous peoples including the Miami, Potawatomi, Shawnee, and Lenape among others who have long been the stewards of this land for generations.

Throughout the walking tour project, students have explored important places in Bloomington. In conjunction with this research, they have also learned the history of Indigenous peoples in the Americas.  We recognize that each location has a history that connects to the original inhabitants of this land.  As you participate in this walking tour, we invite you to learn and reflect on the stories of the people that have shaped and continue to influence our community.
