Perhaps the best preparation for A level would be to read as much as possible. For History, a good starting point would be to subscribe to a magazine such as BBC History magazine or All About History magazine. These magazines cover a wide variety of historical periods and will give you an insight into the most up to date historical interpretations of a particular topic. You can buy these magazines in most newsagents and supermarkets or subscribe online to the digital editions. There are also lots of free articles on their websites.
