Our goal was to make a functional and aesthetic table. The table is made of 4 legs with a square table top. Since the table is quite tall for little kids, it is intended for adults to use it as a working table. What is special about this table is that it is made of sustainable materials including wood and plastic bottles. The legs of the table are put together by scrap wood which are held together by melting plastic with the heat gun. The reason for naming it puzzle piece table is because it has been patched together with many bits of wood, more so than the other tables as unlike the other tables, each leg contains many bits of wood in one layer.

Make 75 cm table legs by assembling scrap wood with melted plastic
Connect the 4 legs to the 50*50 cm table top
Making legs
Since our group was not able to find wood that are 75 cm long, we decided it was easier to find small scraps of wood and connect them to build it up to 75 cm long.
After making the 4 table legs, we realized that they were not stable enough to hold a big piece of wood as table top. As a result, we picked a strong and sturdy medium size wood piece that is 50*50 cm as our table top.
To connect to table top to the legs:
We made slits in the top part of the table to connect the smaller stands of wood to line the edges.
After we cut out the slits, we found large water bottles, cut them up, and put them around the legs.
We then wrapped the plastic around the small wood cuts and the table top
We heated the plastic up with the heat gun, so that it would shrink to fit around the table.
The full method of to build this table is linked at the bottom of the page
When we started making the table, we thought it was going to be easy as there were large amounts of useable wood that could easily make legs. We had some smooth sailing until we realised that not all of our legs were of the same height. We struggled before finally cutting them. we were then faced with a problem of trying to cut the plastic bottles in the correct shape due to the fact that our table legs were made up of many small bits of wood. Eventually, we just used screws and the table was finished. We mainly used sleeve and fastening binds to make the table.Originally we had a few designs, but we didn't go forward with any of them as they were too complicated.
