Pay yourself for its time
Engage third-party market research
Pay for in-market legal or accounting support
For clarity, these seed funds are to be utilized to explore the market to make your best case for acceptance by the GBE. These funds are not to be utilized for product related channel (marketing expense) or logistical distribution (shipment and inventory) where there are no budget caps in place. Your proposed channel and distribution cost will be evaluated for acceptance by the GBE related to required project investment versus return.
Remember, Milton Friedman once said “there’s no such thing as a free lunch” - in business, we must account for all, even when exploring new market opportunities. Restated, even to consider a foreign market for new business development or to expand or improve your existing business in that market, it costs money.
