WEATHER CANCELLATION Policy

POLICY for WEATHER-RELATED Class Cancellations:  "SAFETY FIRST"

1. Refer to the class REMIND platform for a CLASS ANNOUNCEMENT if weather is threatening.

2. Coach will send an announcement AT LEAST 1 HOUR PRIOR to the start of class, if possible. We will try to have class if there is a light rain and the course conditions are playable. 

3. Please have your child dressed appropriately for the weather conditions.

4. ONE class will be scheduled for make-up during a season regardless of how many classes are cancelled due to weather.  This is clearly explained in the registration terms and conditions agreed upon when registering your child and on the chapter website.  Make-up options (at the coach's discretion) include:

   1. Adding a class to the end of the season (after week 8) - location, day or time may vary depending on availabilty

   2. Adding the time missed over several classes (example: for classes that are 1 hour long, coach will add 15 minutes to the end of 4 upcoming classes or 30 minutes to 2 upcoming classes)

5. We will refer to local golf course policies regarding lightning, thunder, and high winds. If there is a warning within 10 miles of our location while class is in session, we will end class early.

6. Days with excessive heat, plan on having class. Please ensure your child wears light colors and brings plenty of water. We will take extra water breaks in the shade on hot days, but will try not to cancel. Parents - please use your discretion and make the decision to attend on hot days based on what is best for your child.

7. We reserve the right to adapt this policy based on conditions and situations that are beyond control (weather, pandemic, etc.)

*Canceling a class is always a tough decision, so we kindly ask for your patience as we strive to ensure the safety of coaches, volunteers, and families as well as try to maximize our time spent with our participants on course.
