Vision: The vision of the EC Team is to create a culture that celebrates and embraces neurodiversity in our classrooms and school community so that all students feel valued, successful, and capable of doing magnificent things!
You are an important part of your child's IEP Team!
Your voice matters and we want to hear your input, answer your questions, and ensure that you are fully aware of your rights and your role in all parts of the process.
The EC Parent Handbook outlines policies governing services for children with disabilities. This resource will help you understand all of your rights and your child's rights under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). One important right to be aware of is that parents/ legal guardians may refer their child for evaluations to determine if they are eligible for special education if they suspect their child has a disability. At The Expedition School, parent referrals for evaluations should be sent to EC Director, Julie McCauley at juliemccauley@theexpeditionschool.com.

Here you will find many resources to help you navigate the EC process. Included are documents that explain what to expect and how to prepare for the referral meeting, eligibility meeting, IEP meeting, and reevaluation meeting. If you would like to better understand this process, please contact the EC Director, Julie McCauley at juliemccauley@theexpeditionschool.com.
Everyone is to some extent differently abled, because we are all born different and raised differently. Our ways of thinking result from both our inherent “machinery” and the experiences that have “programmed” us. ~ Robert D. Austin and Gary P. Pisano
