Hair
All long hair needs to be in a neat bun for the entire recital. No bangs or pieces of hair left out please. Those with hair too short for a bun should have the top half pulled up and away from the face. Any and all hair pieces will go on the right side of the dancer’s head (right is right, left is wrong!) unless otherwise specified by the teacher.

Make Up
Makeup application is required for all dancers at dress rehearsal as well as recital to ensure that your dancer’s face can be seen onstage and on the DVD. (Without makeup, the bright stage lights wash you out and make your features disappear.) We recommend the following stage makeup. Please use discretion with how much you apply in relation to the age of your child.
• Eyeliner: Black or dark brown pencil at the base of the lash line on the outer 2/3rds of the eye.
• Mascara: Black mascara on the upper eyelashes (not necessary under the age of 7).
• Blush: Medium colors, applied to the apples of the cheeks. Place two fingers next to the nose and apply blush from this point back to the hairline.
• Lipstick: Medium to dark red/burgundy colors. Blot gently with a tissue.
Boy dancers need some stage make up too! Blush and eyeliner are recommended.
