"The Longwood Teen Volunteer Program provides high school students an opportunity to become part of the Longwood Team. Teens will work alongside our expert horticulture staff throughout the Gardens to gain hands-on horticulture experience and develop leadership skills.
Teens may choose to work and learn in specific areas of interest or experience as many different Garden locations as possible. Tours, talks, and horticulture demonstrations are offered weekly. Most opportunities are outdoors and weather dependent.
Selected Teen Volunteers will:
-Attend the mandatory Teen Volunteer training on June 16, 2026.
-Be reliable, punctual, and committed to the volunteer role.
-Volunteer at least one shift per week during the seven weeks of the program. Shifts are Monday through Thursday, 8:00 am–11:00 am. Start times and durations may vary.
-Complete a total of 21 hours over the course of the program."
Ryan Case for Smiles:
Students can make pillowcases then drop them off at one of their drop off locations to help this cause!
Ryan’s Case for Smiles (formerly ConKerr Cancer) was founded in 2007 to bring comfort and support to young patients and their families in hospitals around the globe. We started with a simple goal: to create and distribute whimsical pillowcases that give children an emotional boost and remind them that they are not defined by their illness. Today, our programs have expanded to include the children’s entire families so they can better navigate and cope with a very difficult experience and avoid long term emotional trauma. To ensure the highest quality care, we have partnered with PTSD experts at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and Nemours Children’s Health, Delaware to create valuable web-based information and tools designed for each member of the family’s unique experience.

La Mancha Animal Rescue- Coatesville, PA

LaMancha is staffed primarily with volunteers, we currently have an active list of approximately two hundred. These volunteers care for the animals, exercise the dogs, either on walking trails, or large exercise fields. We try and take in the harder-to-place dogs, that wouldn’t have a good chance to be adopted in public shelters.

Main Line Health High School Summer Volunteer Program
The program, for students at least 15 years old, runs from June to August and applications will be accepted beginning in February. Students are permitted to volunteer throughout the school year.
