The Collaborative's own Programs Coordinator Natalie Philpot and Programs Assistant Jacob Dombroski--the co-creators of this very portal--would love to talk vaping at YOUR school! Attendees of past presentations have cited the speaker's knowledge, energy, and pure dedication, as well as practical tools drawn from years of experience in the field of substance misuse prevention.
Here's how it works: Natalie comes to your school at a time that fits with your school schedule. In advance of the presentation date, we request anonymous questions about vaping from your students. The presentation which Natalie ultimately delivers is tailored to answer those specific questions. All youth attendees are asked to complete a brief follow-up form on the topics discussed. The week after the presentation, Jacob compiles all the handwritten responses into a digital spreadsheet, analyzing them for trends and sharing key findings back with school administrators, along with a copy of the raw data. Natalie then returns to the school for a second presentation, usually two to three weeks after the first one. This presentation addresses the most prominent themes that emerged from analysis of student responses to the first presentation. Following Natalie's second presentation, youth attendees will again complete follow-up forms, which are then analyzed and shared back with school admins according to the same procedure described above.
Optionally, Natalie and Jacob would be happy to schedule up to two virtual meetings as part of the presentation package: one before the first presentation to discuss anything specific you want us to know about your community, and one after the second presentation to discuss how best to use the data collected and share key findings with faculty, caring adults, and the students themselves. Please reach out to natalie@thecollaborative.us and jacob@thecollaborative.us if you'd like to know more!
