Inspired by Nas | 12:15 PM to 1:45 PM
One Mic is built in four parts, each one passing the mic to a different voice in the room. First, students speak for themselves, what they need, how they feel, and what they want out of the programs made for them. Then nonprofits and educators take over, laying out what they’re actually doing on the ground, what resources they have, and how they help. Next, funders step in with the data they’ve gathered and what opportunities and support they can offer going forward. Finally, college resources close the panel by addressing the gap, what hasn’t been offered to students yet, and what still needs to change. By the end, students, parents, and school counselors leave with a full picture of where things stand and where they’re headed.
