Join Our Board

The Board of Trustees of Brick Door Productions are valued partners in our non-profit theatre efforts to produce quality entertainment that engages, educates, and enlightens our audience through vital and compelling programs in the creative and performing arts. For the community, by the community, within the community, Brick Door Productions will lay the foundation to stand as the hub for cultural and creative outlets for all who share a passion for the arts – one brick at a time.

Brick Door Productions, Inc. will fulfill our mission, enhance the physical environment, increase the economic vitality and improve the quality of life in the community, whose goals include developing and implementing programs that encourage commercial partnerships, creating employment opportunities, and developing cultural programs. We will collaborate with other community organizations to attract programs and services that will enhance the community and all its residents.

Currently, the Board of Trustees of Brick Door Productions included the following dedicated volunteer leaders and supporters who serve either permanent or rotating terms of two years, with renewal potential based on the needs of the institution, the deliberations of the Board Nominating Committee, and mutual consent. Board of Trustees:

Kevin Forbes, Founder and CEO (permanent position)

There is an annual meeting of the Board, typically held in December, prior to the opening of Brick Door’s season, and three other full Board meeting during the year (approx. March, June, September). These meetings require approximately two hours, as much of the work of the board is accomplished through committees, only the chair of each committee needs to attend.

Periodically, additional committees are formed for specific tasks and time frames. The Executive, Financial/ Legal, and the Fundraising Coordination Committees are the most active committees at Brick Door Productions.

Members of the Board are expected to understand and contribute to the strategic planning process, financial oversight, financial well-being, and accomplishments of Brick Door Productions’ mission, goals and objectives. Specifically, members of the Board should be willing to contribute their time and expertise as follows:

• Attend at least three of the four quarterly meetings each year and offer guidance and expertise in regard to the issues under considerations;
• With aid of the Executive Staff (the Artistic Director and the Managing Director, who are ex officio members of the Board), determine the objectives and policies that will guide Brick Door Productions toward the accomplishment of its mission;
• Act as advocates in communicating the mission, goals, and programs of Brick Door Productions on a local and regional community, and, in turn, bring the community’s concerns and interests to Brick Door Productions;
• Be responsible for the procurement and allocation of financial resources for Brick Door Productions;
• Be willing to make a personal gift at a level that demonstrates commitment, and to ask others to give to Brick Door Productions at the highest level appropriate level;
• Be able to involve others and expand Brick Door Productions’ markets by attracting new subscribers (patrons), volunteers, and donors;
• Hold Brick Door Productions’ season subscriptions and attend its performances and programs;
• Demonstrate sensitivity to the unclear line that sometimes separate functions related to the Board and Staff responsibilities;
• Hold Brick Door Productions in trust for the public interest in the highest regard.
