Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Theater Teacher to join our dynamic team. As a Theater Teacher, you will inspire and educate students in the art of theater, fostering their creativity, confidence, and performance skills. This position offers an exciting opportunity to shape the next generation of actors, directors, and playwrights.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement engaging theater curriculum for students of varying ages and skill levels.
Teach fundamental acting techniques, improvisation, stage presence, and character development.
Direct and oversee student productions, guiding students through the rehearsal process from auditions to performance.
Organize and coordinate theater-related events, such as showcases, workshops, and field trips.
Provide constructive feedback and support to students to help them grow as performers and individuals.
Collaborate with other faculty members to integrate theater into interdisciplinary projects and activities.
Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment where students feel encouraged to explore their creativity and express themselves.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED (Bachelor's degree in Theater, Drama, Performing Arts preferred).
Previous experience teaching theater to students of all ages.
Strong knowledge of theater history, dramatic literature, and various theatrical styles and genres.
Proficiency in directing and stagecraft techniques.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Ability to inspire and motivate students to achieve their full potential in theater.
Commitment to fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion in the classroom and beyond.
