Overview:
We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Director of Development to lead our fundraising and donor relations efforts. As the Director of Development, you will play a pivotal role in advancing our organization's mission by cultivating relationships, securing funding, and implementing strategic fundraising initiatives. Responsibilities:
Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy to support the organization's mission, goals, and programs.
Identify and cultivate relationships with prospective donors, sponsors, foundations, and other funding sources to secure financial support.
Lead all aspects of the donor lifecycle, including prospect research, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship, to build and maintain long-term relationships with donors.
Collaborate with the executive team and board of directors to set fundraising goals, develop annual fundraising plans, and monitor progress towards targets.
Plan and execute fundraising events, campaigns, and initiatives to engage donors and raise awareness about the organization's impact and priorities.
Oversee the development and management of fundraising materials, including grant proposals, sponsorship packages, donor communications, and marketing collateral.
Provide leadership and guidance to the development team, including hiring, training, and mentoring staff and volunteers involved in fundraising activities.
Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and best practices related to fundraising and donor stewardship.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Nonprofit Management, Fundraising, Business Administration, or related field (Master's degree preferred).Minimum of 3 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, with a proven track record of securing major gifts, grants, and sponsorships.
Strong understanding of fundraising principles, techniques, and best practices, including donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage and inspire donors, volunteers, and team members.
Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute effective fundraising strategies and plans to achieve organizational goals.
Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Leadership experience, including managing a team and collaborating with senior leadership and board members.
Passion for the organization's mission and a commitment to ethical fundraising practices.
