Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Dance Teacher to join our team and inspire students of all ages and skill levels to explore the art of dance. As a Dance Teacher, you will have the opportunity to share your passion for movement, creativity, and expression while helping students develop their technique, confidence, and love for dance. Responsibilities:
Develop and implement engaging and age-appropriate dance curriculum for students ranging from beginners to advanced levels.
Teach a variety of dance styles, such as ballet, jazz, tap, contemporary, hip-hop, and cultural dance, incorporating proper technique, terminology, and artistic expression.
Plan and lead structured dance classes, rehearsals, and workshops, focusing on skill development, choreography, and performance preparation.
Provide constructive feedback and encouragement to students to help them progress and achieve their dance goals.
Choreograph original dance pieces for student performances, showcases, and competitions, showcasing creativity and artistic vision.
Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment where students feel empowered to express themselves creatively and explore their potential as dancers.
Collaborate with other dance faculty members to coordinate class schedules, performance opportunities, and special events.
Stay informed about current trends, techniques, and developments in the field of dance education, attending workshops, conferences, and professional development opportunities as needed.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED (Bachelor's degree in Dance, Dance Education, Performing Arts, or related field preferred).
Previous experience teaching dance to students of all ages and levels in a studio, school, or community setting.
Proficiency in multiple dance styles and genres, with strong technical skills and performance experience.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and instructional skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students of diverse backgrounds.
Passion for teaching and mentoring young dancers, fostering creativity, discipline, and self-expression.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute to a positive and supportive dance community.
Commitment to upholding high standards of professionalism, integrity, and ethics in dance education.
Certification in dance teaching or relevant professional affiliations (e.g., RAD, ISTD, Cecchetti, Acrobatic Arts) is a plus.
