Mission Statement: We are parents, grandparents, and community members dedicated to supporting staff, scholars, and programs at ASK. We accomplish this through fundraising, volunteer efforts, donations, and community events.

Due to testing on April 10th, our remaining PSC Meeting dates are:
May 1 - Middle School Robotics, TSA and Speech & Debate clubs will be sharing this year's accomplishments.
We are rolling out some changes and looking for participants who are parents/grandparents/caregivers to current ASK Scholars. We welcome your expertise and input! We have two opportunities -
#1 - SMOG
PSC supports students by offering funding to clubs, known as "Seed Money." The process - The school administration selects clubs for eligibility for seed money (typically high impact, high needs clubs, often with higher expenses, for example - involving travel). If interested in receiving seed money, eligible clubs are required to attend a PSC budget class during lunch. This class reviews the fundamentals of budgets and principles of successful fundraising. Clubs submit to PSC a budget and a description of their expected income and expenses. Then these clubs receive funds from PSC to support their efforts. This helps "seed" their efforts and support their expenses.
This is our second year offering seed money - and had a tremendous response. We have 8 clubs who have completed the process and qualified for seed money from PSC (up from 2 last year).
We are looking for parents/grandparents/caregivers of current ASK Scholars who are willing to review the applications and help determine how PSC funds will be distributed. This group will be called "Seed Money Oversight Group" (SMOG). It would involve 1-2 meetings. Meetings will be held either in person or by zoom depending on availability.
We are hoping to distribute funds ASAP, so please email back if this is something you can help with. Please include your name, your scholar name and grade level, and your best email and cell number. Then we will check schedules and make it happen.
#2 FOG -
In addition to a seed money oversight group, we are forming a "financial oversight group" (FOG) to review and provide input for all other spending by PSC. Requests are typically a combination of student, staff, and admin requests. Again, we are hoping to form this group ASAP and discuss all things financial. We welcome more eyes and ears on all PSC does to make sure it maximizes the benefits. We are looking for parents/grandparents/caregivers for current ASK Scholars. For FOG, we plan to meet by zoom initially, but then hope to communicate by email to help minimize the time commitment and respect your time since this is a year round effort.
Again, please email back if you would like to join FOG as soon as possible so we can schedule meetings and get rolling. Please include your name, your scholar name and grade level, and your best email and cell number.
Questions? Please ask! If you are interested in participating in either group please email us at psc@theaskacademy.org.

🍕See you Thursday!
Here’s a few pointers to help keep the lines moving smoothly and keep our Scholars safe.
DROP OFF:
-Gates open at 7:30am. If you arrive after 8:00am please park and walk your Scholar(s) into the main office.
-There are two lanes that can be used to enter the entrance gate. Both can be used to drop off your Scholar(s).
-Pull forward as much as you are able to.
PICK UP:
-Gates open at 3:30pm. (See bonus tip below)
-There is a single line of traffic for pick up. Please stay to the right and follow the traffic flow line on the second image. You can also see on the image the extra overflow lines that form next to the volleyball court.
-Pull forward as much as you are able to.
-Please note that Scholar pick up should only be at the front area of the main building. Scholars should not be picked up in the dirt lot, on the street in front of the school, on neighborhood streets, or at local businesses. This is for the safety of the Scholars as well as keep the neighboring streets clear for non-school traffic.
Bonus Pick Up Tip:
-The gates open at 3:30pm however you do not need to be in line right when the gate opens. We have until 4:30pm to pick up our Scholars. While we all love a good rope drop, many find waiting until 4:10-4:15pm clears the line and traffic majorly.
FINALLY…Please listen and respect all ASK Staff guiding us during drop off and pick up times.
We are creating a pool of volunteers for PSC events and school activities. Submitting this form does not commit you to volunteering. Please note that volunteering during the school day requires a Volunteer Background Check and safety trainings. Volunteer opportunities include: Pizza Thursdays, Turkey Bingo, Staff Appreciation, Before/After School Events. Use this link (Volunteer Interest Form) to get notified of volunteer opportunities! Information on the Volunteer Background Check process can be found here.
The new school year is almost here and now is the perfect time to do your volunteer training and background check.
As a reminder, any volunteer or chaperone must complete the training course and background check. Once completed and approved, your background check will be good for 3 years. Just click on the “Become a Volunteer” at the top of this page!
👕Getting ready for the new school year?
•••Don’t forget about our Clothing Closet!
The clothing closet is available to all scholars and it has a variety of used uniform items. Polo tops, pants, and hoodies. Sizes and colors will vary during the year based on donations. All items are available free of charge to our scholars.
We also welcome donations of any gently used ASK Academy uniform pieces.
Just stop by the front desk. Here you will find a box for donations or you can ask to visit the PSC’s Clothing Closet. We will also be accepting donations during sign out/orienation days. As a reminder, the front office currently has special hours 9am-1pm July 14th-July 25th.
