Dr. Amanda J. Mesirow
Assistant Executive Director,  ASCA Central Office

Amanda J. Mesirow (she/hers) currently serves as the Assistant Executive Director for the Association of Student Conduct Administration (ASCA). She earned her PhD at Illinois State University, with a research focus on whiteness in community college conduct systems. She has nearly 20 years of student affairs experience in residence life, student life, and conduct, and has worked on large public, small private, and religiously affiliated campuses. Mesirow has presented and published numerous times, most often on topics of social justice and conduct practices, and presents professionally through AJM Keynotes and Workshops. She also co-authored a chapter and wrote a case study for the book "Conduct and Community: A Residence Life Practitioner's Guide" (2018), co-published by ASCA and ACUHO-I. Mesirow has championed multiple equity initiatives to create a conduct system that is just and inclusive.  Additionally, Mesirow is involved in the community through the Prison Solidarity Project and the Point Foundation. She is proudly queer, disabled, and Jewish, and uses both her privileged and oppressed identities to fight for justice.

Dr. Marcy Louis
Student Conduct 101 Co-Lead ; Director of Student Rights and Responsibilities at Texas A&M University-Commerce


Dr. Marcia ‘Marcy’ Louis is the Director of Student Rights and Responsibilities at Texas A&M University-Commerce. She oversees the university conduct process, fostering learning and personal accountability with students. She has 10+ years of progressive experience in conflict resolution, supervision, training/development, policy and procedure revisions, public speaking, and risk management. She is passionate about working with students in and out of the classroom, helping them learn university resources while building their confidence in their ability to navigate college life. Dr. Louis recently completed her doctorate of Educational Psychology from Texas A&M University-Commerce. Her primary research interest involves the influence of administrative resources on college students' self-efficacy and a sense of belonging. Specifically, she is interested in assessing the intersection between program and psychological constructions contributing to higher education student success. Dr. Louis also serves as Adjunct Faculty at Texas A&M University-Commerce where she teaches undergraduate psychology courses. She routinely presents at national conferences, is a guest lecturer, and consults with university leaders on conflict resolution, leadership, crisis response, and risk management. Dr. Louis also holds a Master of Science in Psychology from Texas A&M University-Commerce, a Master of Arts in Student Personnel Services from Northeastern State University, and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
