Family support is crucial to student success in music! Support can look like many, many things - from having a quiet spot for practice, to encouraging kids to take out their instruments at home, to attending performances and events, to volunteering to support the program through the Academy Music Parents Association. EVERY little bit counts and can help a child find their passion for music in band.
The music program at The Academy is a fantastic experience for our students and our community. Every year, our students achieve great musical feats and are selected for numerous honors and special programs. Future opportunities abound for travel, college scholarships, and a lifelong love of music!
The Academy Music Parents Association has become vital to supporting the nearly 1200 music students, 24 musical ensembles, 4 music teachers, and over 40 events of The Academy's K-12 music program each year. There are endless ways to be a part of AMP - from taking a one-time volunteer spot to donating supplies to coming to regular meetings and everything in between. Being the parent of a band kid is just a little bit different. And a student’s success in band not only depends on their dedication and commitment, but very critically on parent support. Take an active role in your child’s music education and academic progress if you want to see them succeed!
