Q .1) A p-n junction diode having internal resistance rf =20Ω is used for half wave rectification. If the applied voltage v= 50 sinωt and load resistance RL=800Ω, Calculate:
I. IM
, Idc and Irms
II. a.c. power Input and d.c. power output
III. d.c. output voltage
IV. Efficiency of rectification
Q.2) A half wave rectifier is used to supply 50 volt d.c. to resistive load of 800 Ω. The diode has internal resistance of 25Ω. Calculate a.c. voltage required ?
Q. 3) In the centre- tap circuit, the diodes are assumed to be ideal i.e., having zero internal resistance. Calculate:
I. d.c. output voltage,
II. Rectification efficiency with primary Vrms =230v , N1/N2 = 5 and RL= 100 Ω.
Q.4) In the bridge type rectifier, the diodes are assumed to be ideal. Calculate:
I. d.c. output voltage, d.c. output power with primary Vrms= 230 v, N1/N2= 4 and RL=200Ω.
