Dear Friends,

Every morning waking up to see our beloved country gasp for air has been heart wrenching. We have spent the last few days trying to understand the needs on the ground by speaking with local NGOs, corporators and doctors. We have identified a current and urgent need for ICU beds and other essential hospital equipment. For this, we need ₹1.5 cr. of which we have personally committed ₹50 lakhs.

We will be directly managing the procurement of the equipment as requested by the government doctors and hospital management. We will ensure that a clear audit trail is published on our site and is available for all donors to view. The cost per item and therefore an approximate cost per ICU bed is also provided below for your reference.

We are continuously evaluating more hospitals that require support such as Guru Nanak hospital in Bandra (E). We audit the hospital on the ground to ensure that they are able to properly use the equipment provided long term and are able to deliver the care required.

The pandemic has exposed a long-term problem in India, the insufficient infrastructure surrounding critical care. These funds will help both provide urgent ICU beds for Covid patients in need, as well as long term ICU support for the community.
