Hi friends! I am a North Carolina native born in Durham, North Carolina. I moved to Greensboro in 2004 to attend the amazing A&T State University (Aggie Pride!!!). After becoming a mom ( I have an 8th grader here at TESG), I decided to go back to school in order to study early childhood education working as a Teacher's Assistant along the way. Upon graduation, I was offered a position as a classroom teacher here at TESG! This is my third year with the school and my second year as a classroom teacher (I was a teacher assistant in the 3/4 House the first year the school was open). I love working at TESG and the philosophy that we are built upon. Teaching is my passion and I love learning and discovering new things with my students! When I am not teaching, I am a creative, fun and loving mom (fur mommy too), wife, sister and daughter. Family is everything to me and I can't wait to share more of my life with all of you!

Mrs. Martinek-Jenne Office Hours: 3:00-3:30 Tuesday

I am a Greensboro native and moved back here in 2002 with my family from Chicago. After graduating from Loyola University Chicago with a B.S. Ed. and an Elementary teaching license, I stayed in my favorite big city to teach kindergarten and pre-K for three years. Since moving back to Greensboro, I have taught pre-K for the past eighteen years-- where daily I got to see the benefits and joy of experiential learning. My entire family lives here and we have loved having that kind of support as my husband Peter and I raise our three children. One son is a freshman at Greensboro College and another is a junior at Grimsley. My fourth grade daughter is at Brooks Global where my husband also works. I most enjoy spending time outdoors, art, listening to all kinds of music, and time with family. I absolutely love teaching and am passionate about finding creative ways to spark children’s interest in learning! I am thrilled to join the TESG community and be part of the amazing mission here.

Hello! I am a Greensboro native. I graduated from UNCG with a bachelor's in elementary education. I am going into my second year of teaching at TESG. Prior to becoming a teacher, I was in nursing school and worked as a CNA for a few years. I enjoy connecting with others and building strong relations. Family and friends are a big part of my life. I try to spend as much time as I can with the ones I love. I enjoy eating good food, listening to music, and constantly learning new things. Fostering creativity and exploration is one of the best parts of my job. I am looking forward to the school year!

Ms. Barselow Office Hours: 8 3:00-3:30 Wednesday

I grew up in the Chicago suburbs and lived in the city for about five years after I graduated high school. I moved to Asheville, North Carolina in 2012 where I worked as an instructor and manager at The Little Gym of Asheville. I moved to Greensboro in 2017 to finish my Bachelors degree at Guilford College and work as a director at The Little Gym of Greensboro. I graduated from Guilford College with a major in psychology and a minor in sociology in May 2019. I am currently working towards my Masters of Arts in Teaching in Elementary Education at A&T. I also just completed my yoga teacher training! In addition to yoga, I spend a lot of my free time reading, chasing around my three cats, tap dancing, and roller skating, which I first started when I was 2 years old. I love seeing kids explore, learn, and figure things out on their own.
