DUAL TRAINING SYSTEM LAUNCHING

The Dual – Training System (DTS) Program on Heavy Equipment Operation (HEO) was successfully launched on the 30th of January, year 2018 at Dole Agri Equipment Maintenance Compound, Dole Philippines Inc. The launching was spearheaded by the Unified Engineering Workers Multi-Purpose Cooperative (UEWMPC). This is in partnership with Dole Philippines Inc in coordination with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA). The UEWMPC, Dole Philippines together with the TESDA signed their pledge in serving the HEO Scholars through Dual – Training System Program. In DTS, the school and the workplace takes the responsibility of giving trainees well-coordinated learning experiences and opportunities. Trainees must spend at least 40% of learning/training in school and 60% of practical training in company. This will ensure that the trainess/ future graduates of this program will be fully equipped with serviceable skills, work proficiency and sentiment.

“Meron tayong white collar job, meron tayong blue collar job. Ang TESDA po hindi na part ng blue collar job, ito po ay “gold” collar job dahil “mina” po ang tech voc, ang Technical Education, bakit? May hugot phrase nga po kami sa TESDA eh, hindi po lahat ng graduates ng kolehiyo ay umasenso, umaasenso mas marami na po ang graduate sa TESDA, tama poba?”

An excerpt from the message of Deputy Director General, Mr. Alvin Feliciano as he delivers his message to the 50 HEO Scholars on behalf of our Director General/Secretary Guiling “Gene” A. Mamondiong. For the first batch, there were 50 HEO Scholars (age ranges 18-40yrs old) that have been awarded the Scholarship. The program will give the TVET Institutions its opportunity to broaden their range in helping and providing skilled workers in manifestation of right skills for their preferred job. It is indeed another achievement for TESDA changed million of lives for almost 24 years of serving the people. Dole Philippines is looking forward for more partnership/programs together with the UEWMPC and TESDA 12, as the Director for Human Resource of Dole Philippines Ms. Julieta M. Burgos said that it was just the beginning and there will be more collaboration in the near future.
