Center Profile

The Provincial Training Center of Agusan del Norte was established in response to the urgent need to assist the growing number of out-of-school-youth, jobless adults and the underprivileged members of the society in the province of Agusan del Norte in acquiring basic industrial skills so that they can be gainfully employed in the local and foreign labor market or in a way of increasing their labor productivity.

It was established by virtue of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between the Municipal Government of Cabadbaran, represented by the Hon. Mayor Rosario M. Amante and the National Manpower and Youth Council, now TESDA, represented by Mr. Rafael V. Abrogar in September 1993. The operation of the training center of the Province is in collaboration with the local government units (LGUs), non – government organization and other institution with the view of providing quality trainings among its constituents.

The Provincial Training Center’s building stands in a 1,000 sq. meter lot donated by the City Government of Cabadbaran (formerly a municipality at the time of donation) and become operational in 1998. The building area is 610.05 sq. meters, 503.95 sq. meters of which is being utilized as workshop (Shielded Metal Arc Welding - 264.60 sq. meters, Electrical Installation Maintenance - 110.85 sq. meters and Cookery- 128.50 sq. meters) and the remaining area is for the center’s administration and operational office (72.25 sq. meters) and comfort rooms ( 33.85 sq. meters).

The areas set per program were carefully designed, complying the shop layout required by the Unified TVET Program Registration and Accreditation System (UTPRAS) promoting a friendlier atmosphere for training.

The active partnerships and linkages of the Provincial Training Center to various industries, companies and government units (both local and national) resulted massive improvements of the training area and building ( in just a span of less than 2 years from early 2015).

The partnership and linkages found not to only improve the building and area of the training center but also opened potentials and opportunities to the trainees. Various joint training-related-activities between the agencies/ industries and the Provincial Training Center were conducted which resulted to a broadened horizon and career and employment opportunities to the recipients of the training.

The operation of the Provincial Training Center of Agusan del Norte aims to improve the quality of life and to provide quality skills training among its constituents. Providing quality skills training means inculcating desirable values through the development of moral character, making them a workforce with world class competencies and with positive work values.
