HISTORICAL BACKGROUND
Through a partnership agreement signed on January 22, 2021, known as the Deed of Usufruct (Annex A), the Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte granted the center the right to utilize one of the buildings within the Provincial Agora Complex for a period of five years. This agreement signifies the commitment of both parties to support skills development and vocational training within the province.
On June 27, 2021, PTC-LDN has occupied the building and developed the area as a training center to deliver its various TVET programs intended for the marginalized but deserving constituents of the province to improve their livelihood and income activities.
The Provincial Training Center – Lanao del Norte aims to provide high-quality technical education and skills training programs to the residents of the province. By offering various vocational courses, the center aims to equip individuals with the necessary skills and knowledge to meet the demands of the local job market and enhance their employment prospects.
By promoting technical education and skills training, the Provincial Training Center – Lanao del Norte plays a vital role in empowering individuals and contributing to the overall socio-economic development of the province. It serves as a platform for individuals to acquire new skills, upgrade existing ones, and improve their livelihood opportunities.
A new important milestone for the Center is the acquisition of a permanent site in Kapatagan, Lanao del Norte. Hon. Barry Y. Baguio, the Municipal Mayor of Kapatagan, during a courtesy meeting last February 7, 2023, offered to donate 2,400 sqm of land owned by the LGU, located at the municipality's center heart, for the Provincial Training Center of Lanao del Norte. He also stated that the LGU is willing to give a counterpart to the budget required for building construction.
Currently, PTC-Lanao del Norte is awaiting the finalized Deed of Usufruct from Kapatagan for the approval and construction of the building on the new site.
