A highlight of our trip will be our visit to Space Center Houston in Houston, the official visitor center for NASA’s Johnson Space Center. During our visit, students will have the opportunity to take guided tours, explore interactive exhibits, and get up close views of real spacecraft, including space shuttles and other historic equipment used in space exploration. It’s an incredible chance to see firsthand how science, engineering, and teamwork come together to make space travel possible.
Students are encouraged to bring spending money if they would like to purchase snacks, drinks, or souvenirs from the gift shop during our time at the center. We will not feed students during this stop in our day.
Cool Fact: At Space Center Houston, you can see a real Saturn V rocket—the same type of rocket used during the Apollo missions. It’s over 360 feet long (about the length of a football field!) and is the most powerful rocket ever successfully flown. Seeing it in person really puts into perspective just how massive and powerful these missions were
