REQUIRED FORMS -- MUST SUBMIT IN FAMILY DASHBOARD:
1. Summer Springboard (SSB) Airport transfer form
2. Copy of confirmed flight itinerary (must list: flight no., arrival time, etc.)
SSB offers airport service for your student if you do not plan on traveling with them.
For families planning on utilizing the airport service, please make sure your flight aligns with the required time window:
Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU) Arrivals: flight must arrive between 12:00 PM - 4:00 PM EST*
In advance of travel, you will receive the name and cell phone number of the staff member(s) who will be meeting you at the airport.
Students who arrive before the flight window will not be met by a SSB staff member until the beginning of the arrival window.
e.x. If a student arrives at RDU at 8:00 AM a staff member will not meet the student there until 12:00 PM.
Students who arrive after the flight window will not be provided transportation to campus (with the exception of unexpected flight delays).
The airport shuttle to campus is scheduled to depart at 4:30 pm. If you have opted into the SSB Airport Service, please ensure that you upload the required forms one month before your session's start date.
*SSB team members monitor real-time flight status in case of delays or cancellations outside of the arrival window and coordinate transportation.
Unaccompanied Minors: Depending on the airline and your student's age, families may need to opt-in to the Unaccompanied Minor Service. Unaccompanied Minors are provided an escort to/from the gate. The airline must also have the name(s) on file in advance of the individual(s) who will escort the unaccompanied minor through security and wait until they board, and who goes to meet them on the other side.
If you do not plan on using the Summer Springboard (SSB) Airport Service, check-in will be on the first Sunday of your session between 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM. Please check out the Arrival Day page for more information on the hall and parking.
