Position Paper

This paper focuses on the controversy of the DACA program within the United States of America. It also focuses on the ethical treatment of DACA recipients, and basic human rights that they deserve. I chose this paper because I was passionate about the DACA program, and the belief that they should be able to continue to stay within the US. This was written in PLCY 101, where we were tasked with taking a position on a controversial topic and defending it. This assignment required many leadership skills in order to be successful in defending the position chosen. One of these leadership skills is developing a cohesive argument, and knowing the counterargument. This applies to leadership because as a leader, one must be able to address those who disagree with them, and motivate/persuade them to their side. This assignment helped me develop that skill further.
