Autistic college students face many unique challenges when it comes to regulating stress, especially compared to their neurotypical peers. These challenges may lead to lower success in post-secondary education. Additionally, research on Autism Spectrum Disorder within college communities is often limited, which constrains support and solutions. The limited amount of research done on this topic is what makes this project particularly novel.
Ultimately, our goal is to widen the scope of research within the field of Autism Spectrum Disorder while also aiding the autistic community to succeed in post-secondary education using interventions tailored to their needs.
There is very little data and research on ASD in college students. We hope to aid in closing this gap by connecting with the ASD community in colleges.
