Prep is such an important year in your child’s school journey which is why we place a strong emphasis on teaching the fundamental skills across all learning areas, as well as encouraging a love of lifelong learning.

Our experienced and enthusiastic team of teachers lead a curriculum catering to a diversity of learning styles. The Prep classrooms are designed to incorporate aspects of the pre-school/kindergarten environment including a shop, kitchen, construction and dress up area. These engaging learning areas provide a backdrop for our “investigation based” sessions in which students are given opportunities to direct their own learning as they explore areas of personal interest.

Each day students undertake two hours of literacy learning which consists of a reading hour and a writing hour. In addition to the Literacy program, students also engage in a daily, one hour numeracy lesson.

Across the week all children take part in specialist lessons. These are one hour each in length and address the curriculum areas of:

• Languages – Mandarin

• Performing Arts

• Physical Education

• Visual Arts.
