Implementation Plan Template

The PPLN members' Implementation Plan represents the culmination of the networks' goal to gather information on basic need programs, assess the best path to improved support, and map a plan to implement systems-level change on their campuses for parenting students success.

The Implementation Planning template is a tool to capture and clarify each member institutions' primary goal for systems change, and how they plan to achieve improved program development and implementation for parenting students. Building off the Campus Basic Needs Inventory, the Implementation Planning template centers essential information needed to advance systems-level change starting with the resources, opportunities and obstacles unique to each institution and the students they serve.

Members are encouraged to leverage the Implementation Planning template however best supports their team and planning process, including adding to, adapting, linking related work plans, and duplicating to support multiple systems-change initiatives for parenting students. The essential data points and information outlined will be shared with network peer members, advisors and parenting student experts for feedback in September, and provided to the broader PPLN stakeholders and investors as a collective Call to Action for PA Parenting Students in December 2022.

Campus Basic Needs Inventory

Taking stock of the basic needs programs and resources that exist on your campus will help to highlight the most opportune to advance in support for parenting students. With this inventory, you'll capture key details about the operation of existing resources, related policies and procedures, the practical support offered, the approach to reaching students, the obstacles encountered, and thereby, the potential for greater impact.

For starters, PPLN members will collect Phase 1 inventory information as a baseline across focus areas: food, housing, childcare, financial aid with parenting students access (or obstacles) considered throughout.

As the Network progresses through each basic need topic, related convening and corresponding Phase 1 inventory, Members can dive deeper into priority areas that show promise on their campus for increased systems level support to parenting students. Phase 2 calls for more detailed specifics to uncover the practical investments, systems changes or additional programming needed to successfully deliver basic needs supports for parentings students' success.
