In 1987, Howard Shulz, previously mentioned, returned to the company and after his return, he purchased he company from the original founders and transformed it into a coffeehouse business, which emphasizes the Importance of customer experience and community.
With this new change, the company saw a major expansion, and quick. Stores started to open all acorss Seattle and other parts of the United states. Starbucks really focused on creating a unique ambiance as well which included things like jazz music and warm interiors. The pparoach attracted many which continued to grow and grow. In 1996, The brand decided to go global starting with Japan and the United Kingdom, and now operated in over 80 countries.
As the brand continued to grow, its advertising and marketing strategies were forced to evolve. The company focused on their commitment to quality, customer experince, and coporate social responsibilyt. Starbucks began to introduce new products like the Frappucion and seasonal drinks like the Pumpkin Spcied Latte, which became a cultural ohenomena. The brand has also created a diverese product range and have inlcuded things like pastries, breakfast snadhwiches, and other drinks like tea. The brands commitment to sustainability and being ethical helped to grow the global consumer base as well as building a strong presence on social media, allowing them to connect with customers worldwide.
