The B.S. in Health Professions includes courses in Anatomy & Physiology, Biology, Chemistry and Physics which you will take along with social sciences that focus on psychology, cultural competency, nutrition, and more! The major is designed with a focus on the parts of an undergraduate education that professional programs in healthcare are looking for. You can find more information on the major here.
The Fall 2020 Requirements for the B.S. in Health Professions include the General Education requirements for Temple University; a required College of Public Health Core class (HRPR 1001); Core classes required of all HP majors; and STEM requirements that meet the prerequisites for admission to the PT program at Temple University. The B.S. in Health Professions (Fall 2020):
General Education Courses include KINS 1223/1224 Anatomy & Physiology I and II. These courses are required for the major but also fulfill the gen eds. Students must earn a C or higher in KINS 1223/1224, but a C- or higher in all gen eds.
Interdisciplinary Health Professions Core includes courses focused on the discipline of healthcare and help form a foundation of knowledge for future clinicians.
Health Professions Math/Science Core includes the STEM prerequisites required for application to the TU PT program.
Health Professions Electives will be met through the students Physical Therapy classes taken in year 4 of the program.
