In this welcome video you will learn about Te Aka Taumatua, how to log in to your online learning space called 'My Te Kura', and hear information about this website and our 4-Step induction process.

Getting Started Plan

See our suggested 'Getting Started Plan' below as a guide to help you complete the tasks set out for you in our 4-Step induction process during your first few weeks with Te Kura. While it would be good to try and work through these tasks within your first 2 weeks, it is okay if it takes you a little longer. Ākonga (students) who require Laptop or Internet assistance can apply for this through Te Kura (see how to do so below).

Below is a checklist of 12 tasks that will help you with setting up your device and your My Te Kura space. Please work through each item carefully by clicking on the icon for each step. If you already have a device, you can start at Number 3 of the checklist.

If you don't have a laptop, you can apply for one through Te Kura if you have a Community Services Card or a MSD number. Click on the link above.

If you are using your own laptop, you will need to make sure you have Google Chrome. Click on the link above to download Chrome.

Click above to try logging into My Te Kura. Your log in and password will be your Student ID number (found in previous emails sent out by Te Kura).

Click above to learn how to set up your Te Kura Google account.

Click above to personalise your My Te Kura profile and set up email forwarding.

Click above to learn how to set up Microsoft 365 if you need it.

Click above to read the Te Kura Gloassary to familiarise yourself with key words you will come across a lot with your learning at Te Kura.

Click above to go through the Online Safety Module on My Te Kura. You will need to read the content, then sign and submit the agreement.

Click above to apply for a Student ID card (if you would like one).
