Bi-Weekly Submissions

At the beginning of each semester, you as the parent, will submit a Semester Learning Plan. We have included an online form in InfoCenter for you to use that tells us WHAT you plan to cover and HOW you will do it (what curriculum, strategies, etc) in each core subject. This is to allow your teacher to provide oversight & support. It helps your teacher get to know each of your student's preferred learning styles. Your Homeroom teacher is going to be your biggest partner and this opens up the door for excellent communication throughout the semester.

Every 2 weeks a Learning Log or Learning Assessment is submitted, updating your homeroom teacher on the cool things you are doing and any support they can give you. These Logs are due on Friday's at Midnight.

We are requesting that parents upload a student Learning Sample for each Power Learning Goal (PLG) Category in Math, Science, Social Studies and Language Arts sometime during the year. This will give our program more credibility and show additional proof of student learning. The PLGS are aligned with state standards. Teachers love seeing the amazing things students are working on at home!

The work samples can be submitted anytime during the school year. They can be in the form of worksheets, videos, assessments, pictures of projects, writing samples, and so many more options. Please help us showcase the amazing things our students are doing and learning.

Important Details:

  • The first Semester Learning Plan is due the first Friday after school starts.

  • Bi-Weekly Learning Log are due by Midnight on Friday with a grace period until Monday night.

  • Any student with no submission will automatically be given a '0' by the InfoCenter System on Tuesday. Students are still able to submit for a better grade. 0's can accumulate and result in going through the truancy process.

  • NOTE: For each school day the Learning Logs are late, 10% will be deducted, up to 5 days.

  • Even if you are more than 1 week late, your teacher can give you a grade of 50% IF the submission is received BEFORE the end of the semester.

  • If you have more than one student at Tech Trep Academy K-6, they will all be assigned to the same Homeroom teacher. The Jr. High teacher team has subject certified teachers and a homeroom advisor.

Frequently Asked Questions

What if we’re on vacation or sick?

Excused absences are very rarely approved. Only under extreme circumstances.

Families are encouraged to work ahead and submit work before leaving on vacation.

If the family is sick, BE SURE to contact your Homeroom teacher. She/he can generally allow you a grace period to submit your work without accruing the 10% a day deduction consequence. Please don't wait until you have missed 1 or more submissions! Keep your Teacher updated on your special needs. They WANT to help you be successful!

How do grades work?

All grades for K-6 are either Pass or Fail. The Pass / Fail grades are based on the student’s demonstration of active participation in their personalized education program through Bi-weekly Learning Assessments. Students in grades 7-8 receive letter grades.

In order to earn a Pass and remain enrolled in the program, students need to submit a Bi-weekly Learning Assessment and maintain 80% or higher in Homeroom.

From InfoCenter, you can check your student’s Homeroom progress anytime under “Grades”. We encourage you to login to your account frequently to check your student’s progress and teacher feedback in order to ensure your student is successfully demonstrating active participation.

What if the Tech Trep Academy program is not the right fit for my child?

We are invested in your student’s progress and we want them to succeed!

If a parent or student demonstrates that this program isn’t a good fit by failing to show active participation by submitting Bi-Weekly Submissions, then we’ll initiate steps to withdraw the student from the program.

A parent may also feel that this program is not the right fit for their family or child or the family's circumstances may change. Please check your TTA Handbook for more information on withdrawing from the program.
