Today you'll learn how to get started in WOMP, including adding and subtracting shapes, creating custom shapes, and experimenting with physics to bring your 3D models to life.
Image Tracing: Ability to import and trace a 2D image to create a 3D model.
Conceptualizing and Planning: Experience in developing initial concepts and translating them into detailed 3D designs.
Creative Product Design: Skills in designing a product that could be sold, such as jewelry or toys.
Tracing: The process of creating a 3D model by outlining and following the contours of a 2D image.
Importing: Bringing external files, such as images, into WOMP to use as references or textures.
Product Design: The creation and development of new products, considering functionality, aesthetics, and manufacturability.

An example of image tracing in Womp!
Here, we'll learn how to add and subtract from shapes, create custom shapes, and even play around with physics.
Step 1: Get Started in Womp
Navigate to Womp.com to access the platform
Log In: Carefully copy and Paste the login details that were DMed to you over Zoom
Step 2: Create a new project
Click on “New Project” (a large blue icon at the top right of the screen) start modeling
Delete all the default objects in your workspace
Step 3: Import an Image
Navigate to the 'Import' option found at the bottom of the layers panel.
Select an image (like a simple drawing or logo) to import into WOMP.
Step 4: Position the Image
Adjust the image's position, scale, and orientation using the transform tools.
Reduce the opacity to see through it
Press the lock icon so it doesn't move
Step 5: Trace the Image
Use the drawing or line tools to trace the contours of the image.
Step 6: Create basic shapes (e.g., rectangles, circles) along the edges of the image.
Combine and adjust these shapes to match the image outline.
Step 7: Extrude the Shapes
Select the traced shapes and use the extrusion tool to convert them into 3D objects.
Step 8: Save your work!
Head to the 'Export' button at the top right of the screen
Click on 'Export Full Screen Image' and share it to Day 4 Padlet!
Apply everything we’ve learned so far in Womp to design a product you could sell, like jewelry or a toy.
Step 1: Brainstorm and sketch out product ideas in either Sketchpad or Pixlr
Step 2: Create a new project
Step 3: Combine, add, subtract, and goop shapes
Step 4: Add colors and materials to your product
Step 5: Ask for feedback along the way
Step 6: Upload and share!
Add your work to our workshop's Padlet!
Step 1: Visit our class Padlet website
Step 2: Press the plus icon
Step 3: Upload your work
Press the upload button (the first button)
Find and select your file (screenshot)
Step 4: Add your name and title to your work!
Optional: write a short caption describing your work
Step 5: Then, press Publish!
