Today you'll learn how to get started in WOMP, including adding and subtracting shapes, creating custom shapes, and experimenting with physics to bring your 3D models to life.
Basic Navigation: Mastery of mouse controls to rotate, pan, and zoom in the 3D space.
Shape Manipulation: Ability to add, move, resize, rotate, and customize basic shapes.
Combining and Subtracting Shapes: Proficiency in using Boolean operations to add and subtract shapes for creating complex models.
Coordinate System: The X, Y, and Z axes used to define the position of objects in 3D space.
Extrusion: The process of extending a 2D shape into a 3D object by pulling it along the Z-axis.
Boolean Operations: Techniques for adding or subtracting shapes to create complex models.
Here, we'll learn how to add and subtract from shapes, create custom shapes, and even play around with physics.
Step 1: Get Started in Womp
Navigate to Womp.com to access the platform
Log In: Carefully copy and Paste the login details that were DMed to you over Zoom
Step 2: Follow the tutorial
In the home page, navigate to the 'discover' tab on the right
Click on 'The Coffee Cup Mug Game'
Then get started!
Step 3: Save your work!
Head to the 'Export' button at the top right of the screen
Click on 'Export Full Screen Image'
Share it to Day 3 Padlet!

The curve tool
Here, we'll learn how to add and subtract from shapes, create custom shapes, and even play around with physics.
Step 1: Get Started in Womp
Navigate to Womp.com to access the platform
Log In: Carefully copy and Paste the login details that were DMed to you over Zoom
Click on “New Project” (a large blue icon at the top right of the screen) start modeling
Step 2: Basic Navigation - Mouse Controls:
Rotate View: Click and drag with the left mouse button (or drag 2 fingers on your trackpad)
Pan View: Click and drag with the right mouse button (or drag 1 finger on your trackpad)
Zoom: Scroll the mouse wheel up or down
Step 3: Add a cube and adjust its properties
Click on 'Area 1' under 'Objects' and press delete
Then, navigate to 'Objects' at the top to add a new object. Add a cube!
Feel free to play around with size, rotation, scale, and roundness.
Move your object
Press the X, Y, and Z arrows to move your object
Resize your object
Click and drag on the corner square handles to change the size
Or, click the square handle in the center of your shape to resize it and maintain its aspect ratio
Rotate your object
Hover over an edge of the shape to access the rotation features
Step 4: Add a shape to your cube (or subtract one!)
Add another shape and drag it on top of or next to your cube.
Make sure all your shapes are in the same area if you'd like to combine them
Then, adjust the goop level!
If you'd like to subtract a shape, click on it and then press 'negative' in the right panel.
Hierarchy matters!
Step 5: Stylize your shape
Change your color and add a new material in the right panel
Step 6: Add curves
Curves come with two points.
You can move each point's location and change its size (and even color and material!)
You can also duplicate (command d) a point and move the points around
Can you make a worm-like shape?
Head to the panel on the right and click on a shape to change your curve's shape
Step 7: Save your work!
Head to the 'Export' button at the top right of the screen
Click on 'Export Full Screen Image'
Share it to Day 3 Padlet!
An example of a simple character
An example of a table
Apply everything we’ve learned so far in Womp to design your own character, mug, or table!
Making round shapes
Combining two goopy shapes
Subtracting shapes
Adding curves
Exploring color and material
Let's use Womp to:
Option 1: Create a fancy chair (and table)
Option 2: Create a goopy character
Option 3: Continue working on your mug (customize it and add other objects around it)

Are you done? Try designing on a new object, or watch the Youtube Tutorial below to follow along how to make the cactus on the right.
Add your work to our workshop's Padlet!
Step 1: Visit our class Padlet website
Step 2: Press the plus icon
Step 3: Upload your work
Press the upload button (the first button)
Find and select your file (screenshot)
Step 4: Add your name and title to your work!
Optional: write a short caption describing your work
Step 5: Then, press Publish!
