The mission of the Hoboken Charter School reflects our belief that a successful educational experience can only take place when attention is given to the development of the whole child — a break with the traditional concept of schooling. We envision a community composed of learners of all ages that fosters a spirit of supportive interdependence, where individuals can grow in a nurturing, compassionate environment that reflects the history and diversity of the larger Hoboken community.

Mission: We are committed to developing the kind of values, skills, knowledge, confidence and character in our students that will propel them to success in school, college, and career, and lead to a happy, contributory life.
Vision: Martin Luther King, Jr.’s vision of the “Beloved Community” inspires us – and we know that when children develop positive values, high-level skills, inner-strength and confidence, it advances Dr. King’s vision, producing a more caring, prosperous, and happy world for everyone.
We are committed to developing values, skills, knowledge, confidence and character in our scholars that will propel them to success in school, college and career, and lead them to experience a happy, contributory life.
At Empowerment Academy Charter School, we work hard to create a fun, caring environment that makes our scholars enjoy school — and honoring their parents’ trust, we strive to help our scholars develop positive values and worthy goals for their lives.
We have high expectations for our scholars and an accelerated curriculum that challenges them. But we never let a scholar be defeated by the challenge.
Instead, we monitor each scholar’s learning growth and the minute we see a scholar struggling, we provide tutoring or other kinds of assistance that result in the scholar mastering skills he or she may have initially found difficult.
This goes beyond teaching academic skills. Our scholars develop an experience-based confidence that with perseverance, and by reaching out for assistance when necessary, they can overcome even the most difficult of challenges…
